Who would have thought

V.S.

So many have asked in confusion what I am doing in my life. And with my own confusion I say I am at BSU for the Fall Semester.
I was at BYU Idaho for the last three semesters straight. I wanted a break from Rexburg and wanted to try something new. Knowing I had the 2009 Fall Semester off from school I considered many options of what to do and where to be. I decided to live in Kuna, Idah (right outside of Boise) and attend BSU for the Fall and continue on with school without a break once again. I am so motivated to get classes out of the way and get into Dental Hygiene School as soon as possible.
So here I am at BSU with one of the greatest college football teams who are the only ones with a blue turf - so cool!
I love the Boise are and the small town feel. I love my new ward (3rd Ward) and am enjoying institute. All of which I love my decision to live with my sister Elenna and her little family in Kuna and attend BSU. I am finally attending a University with a local football team which makes for amazing school spirit. Don't worry I love BYU Football, I always have and always will, but will cheer for BSU this year. And when BSU isn't playing BYU is next on my list.
I will be back at BYU Idaho for the Winter semester and then for the Spring/Summer I will finally take a break. Of which, I will probably stay in Rexburg and work but mainly enjoy the summer life in Rexburg where there is a lot to do and a lot of people to flurt with.
I love you all - you who actually check my blog though I don't update it enough.

Nauvoo Trip May 2009

So these are a few pictures from my Nauvoo trip. I understand it has been a really long time since I have even looked at my own blog let alone updated it. But I have been so busy with school and life that I haven't taken the time to update it. And right now I don't have the time to update this and elaborate more about my AWESOME trip, so if you want to know give me a call. But know that this trip was amazing and so uplifting for me. A renewal and deeper perspective came from this trip. I was rejuvenated and rededicated to my faith... The Church Is True!

Conference Wekkend

Conference weekend did involve watching and listening to the prophets but it also involved having fun with my family. I spent the night at my brothers house Enoch and spent time with his wife Rebecca and baby Emma. We had a blast together. I spent the night Friday night, Saturday we made fresh yummy and healthy smoothies. Emma and I took conference notes together on our laptops. To entertain little Emma after lunch I gave her a magic carpet ride, she became addicted. After conference Becca, Emma and I went to Nature Park and fed the duckies and took a well needed walk. In the mean time we enjoyed the beauty of Fall. Sunday was tired some but we ended up have so much fun once again. To keep Emma from crying after the morning session of conference Enoch took out his Nerf gun and started shooting Emma. It sounds harsh, but it wasn't, it was just the opposite - it made Emma laugh and then begun the war. I got the second gun and Enoch and I were at it for a while. It ended with me tackling Enoch for the extra bullets, hahaha. Enoch then to be funny got out the Hair Spray Paint and attacked me, he then got creative and panted a smilie face on me.

My Journey

It has been a positive experience thus far since I decided to move to Rexburg, ID and attend night classes at BYU. Though I can admit that I have learned a lot and thus far consider this journey into the unknown a positive experience, I still consider this a hard time in my life. Hard in the manner that I have been asked and wanted to stretch myself, an agreement to be uncomfortable for the sake of a better life.
But on Monday I fasted and realized so many things. I felt so grateful to know that I can pray for guidance and comfort when times are hard and lonely. And He answered me.

Later Monday I got an email notifying me that I have been accepted and admitted to BYU Idaho as a full time student.

My plan and goal is to attend BYUI for the Winter Semester and then transfer to Apollo College - Dental Hygiene Program in Boise, ID in May 09. I can only hope that everything works out the way I want it and have listed it, but I will be happy with whatever the Lord gives me.

So I must admit that today got up to 64 degrees and I was freezing. I cant imagine how I will adjust to the bitter cold weather; but I take hope in hot chocolate, postume, mint tea and natural biological adjustments of the body.

So I made the effort to save money as a college student should, and got my car registered in Idaho with Idaho insurance. Registration cost $51 here with out the need of a smog check which also saved $20ish. In Vegas I would have paid a total of $140ish, I am awesome!

Though I am probably the coolest person that has walked this earth since 1982, I still was compelled to be humbled by getting my second ticket since crossing the boarders into Idaho. On my way up I was caught speeding and got a $140
ticket, and just yesterday I got a parking ticket of

$10 for parking in the wrong "area" on campus. I can only park in the "B" parking area come to find out. I just thought the B stood for BYU, I need to read the signs better. :)
Because I am taking night classes and am in the process of studying for my Dental Assistant Certificate and application test to be admitted into Apollo College Dental Hygiene Program, I still think that it would be a great investment of time to do service in the Rexburg Temple. Other than doing sessions, I decided to put in a good 4-6 hours of temple service probably on Fridays in this beautiful temple. I really feel that my time in Rexburg is a very special time of my life to build up my spiritual reservoir before I face new journeys and adventures. This little town is of greatness and I want to be fulling involved in the experience of spirituality that I can possible get here.

Last but not least, I have been so blessed with having my brother, his wife, and their baby Emma living in town with me. I have felt lonely and lost so many times while being here. But true loneliness hasn't been felt because I have family here with me. I have been comforted with having the priesthood and family so close. Comforts of family that in reality no one else can compare. Of which I am so very thankful that I have family and Enoch, Becca and little Emma are here with me to help me along the way!

Idaho, a place to be or the place to be. I have always considered Idaho as a place to be/visit until now. Now I feel that it is the place to be. I love the feeling I have here and I know it is because I am supposed to be here. I am exactly where the Lord wants me to be and that feels good. I will be attending the night classes this Fall at BYU-Idaho and will be an "accepted" student for the Winter. What a weird thought,...I will now be attending a state and school that I have always thought as maybe a little weird. I admit that I have thought harsh about Idaho, never thought anything amazing about the state. I admit that I have called Rexburg "Candy Land", I admit that I don't eat potatoes that much. But I also admit that I have never felt so good nor excited about living in Idaho and attending BYU until now. I know that feeling can only be inspired by the Lord. After all, wasn't it I, who was an anti-sister missionary and proclaimed that I would never go on a mission? I have changed so much and have seen myself more than once change opinions and views about important topics.

People in my life that I admire, and now I will tell you why...

My sister-in-law Celeste, she is such a hard worker. She has such a dedicated spirit that has helped me to remember that anyone can preserver through life and still have joy regardless what happens. She has taught me endurance! Also, she is giving me another nephew, so I love her, she can do no wrong in my eyes! :) p.s. she should totally be a model... like me. Okay maybe I am not as hot as her, but she should still be a model. (picture taken by Lori Wong)

My niece Morgan is the coolest kid ever. But to be more serious, she has been the greatest friend I have ever had. She has taught me and reminded me to be more childlike by being loving to anyone and everyone. As for Morgan sister Jane Elizabeth (cutest name by the way) she is just too cute, but right now she just eats and sucks on anything she can. :)
Morgan came at the most perfect time. Coming home from the mission was one of the hardest trials thus far and Morgan helped me. She was my friend when I had no one, or at least it felt like that at times. She helped me find purpose again. And maybe that is something that only return missionaries can relate too.
After being consumed with the greatest work on this earth, I found myself and my purpose in life. Teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is all I want to do everyday, all day long. But when I came home I had to start my own life, and that felt so empty. Its one of the hardest things to explain about myself. Some people get it, and others don't. But Morgan gave me purpose! I don't love Morgan more than my other nieces or nephew(s), Morgan was just that kid who helped me during a vital time of my life. And each child in my family will have and has had moments of teaching me. (No Favorites!)

Right after the air port coming home
from the Mission holding Morgan,
she was only two days old!

It took forever to get my bluetooth back from her

Can you tell that we're related? That's why we're BFF's

My awesome brother-in-law Ryan. He has shown me that real men burp, pass gas, and may smell really bad after a work out, but also would do anything for his family and actually does. He is so loving, seeks to understand people, fights hard to keep his family happy, is a hard worker and loves the Lord. He is so amazing!

Jane has her eyes open in this one

My sister-in-law Becca. Becca is now by far one of the most humble people I have come to know. She is of course so loving and patient and treats my brother with amazing love and kindness. She sets a tone in her home of security, awareness, sincerity, love, and diligence. I am excited to see this family grow, with me being the favorite aunt...jk!

Emma Leigh is so dang funny!

My sister-in-law Lynda. Can we just say wonderful! This woman seems to continue to fight even when all odds are against her. And what makes her even more amazing in my eyes is that while I was on my mission she would receive all of my weekly letters and forward them on to every family member and friend for the full 18 months. Some might think that that isn't a big deal, especially with technology, but to me it was. She showed her love to me by serving me diligently the whole time i was gone and away from family. And to add to her service she was one of three or four people who wrote me consistently the whole time I was gone. Most might not understand, unless you have served a full time mission, that letters were so important. I needed to hear from family and she kept me alive while i was gone and i will never forget that nor her service. p.s. she is an amazing mother of two beautiful children who maybe considered autistic but in our eyes, so very perfect; Hailey and Westley.

These additions to my family has brought me the greatest joy and sense of purpose. I have felt so alive watching life take its course through creation. It can be an overwhelming feeling when thinking about such an eternal principle as creation. And when thinking about creation, family, life, etc... you can't help but think about our true creator Jesus Christ. I wanted to take this moment in my life to publicly pronounce my thanksgiving for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has suffered all, so all of our imperfection can become perfect in Him, in His Atonement. I am so thankful that our family is a forever family because of the sacred ordnance's that are given to us through the temple and priesthood authority that is once again upon this earth. I am grateful for the doctrine placed before us through tangible scriptures such as the Holy Bible and Book of Mormon; And even more, through our living prophet. How joyous I feel that our Heavenly Father, has given us His Son, Jesus Christ, to make a way to come back unto Him. How hopeful I feel by the prophetic doctrine that by grace we are saved, after all we can do. (Book of Mormon - 2Nephi 25:23)

Today after a great conversation with my sisters and mother about my goals and general feelings of life I decided to once again to look into school for out of state.  I am not content with waiting to go away to school in January.  So as I was looking into my options of what to do since I haven't been accepted by BYU-Idaho, and if i were accepted I would have to wait until Jan 09 to attend.  I haven't been accepted by Apollo College for Hygiene school yet, and if I were to be accepted I would have to wait until May 09 to attend.  Therefore, the thought of attending CSN and waiting to get away became a long suffocating feeling.  After just looking and thinking I remembered that BYU has night classes that you do not need to be accepted for.  I am not a great fan of Utah or the Provo area so I wondered if they offer the night classes for BYU Idaho.  Come to find out that they do and I spent all day on getting my ducks in a row.  I am now enrolled to attend BYU Idaho starting September 8th.  I will leave for Idaho probably in September 1st(ish).  I will be sad to leave the friends behind and leave my calling in the Primary, but feel that I so desperately need a new life and a big change.  If I were to be honest I have not felt at home since I have been home from the mission.  The last two years has felt sad and lonely and but at the same token I wasn't ready to leave before until now.  I have always wanted to leave but never had the open door to let me until now.

This Summer my sister Elenna and her family moved to Kuna, Idaho.  Kuna is just 15-20 min. from Boise Idaho.  There move was hard on me because I have depended so much on her and her family.  I would spend all of my free time with them and extra if I could.  Morgan, her oldest baby, has been like my best friend since I have been home; which made their move even harder on me.  So to satisfy my sorrow, I have visited Boise, twice this summer and will soon be there again later this month.  If I keep going at this rate I will be broke before school starts this Fall. :[  But while I have been home I have spent a lot of my time with Primary in my singles ward and projects to keep me busy.  Thought about getting a job then decided, ... na... I will just chill this summer.  Keep it real!

Salt Lake Trip

So Lori and I made a trip the beginning of March to celebrate the marriage of our good friend Trisha. We had a blast that weekend and made some great memories along the way. Saturday night we stopped by DODO down town Salt Lake for some dessert and it was delightful! I had to take a picture of the sign, DODO? Thats a silly name. Well it was great to meet up with old friends that I had here in Las Vegas before I went on the mission and everyone decided to convert to Utah or Idaho -ugh. It was a great weekend!

To Alecia Neel: Oreo Cookies!

To My Dear Friend Alecia Neel:

For Christmas in 2004 you sent me your homemade Oreo cookies to my companion and I in Fayetteville, AR. Every Christmas I remember your thoughtful gift and couldn't help but eat them all! My companion had some too; we both just loved that package!

Baby Jane

To the many friends who were suspicious as to why I have been so busy the past month, now I have proof that I truly was attending to my sisters needs with this new baby girl Jane Elizabeth. So far it looks like this beautiful girl will have dark hair like her momma and hazel eyes like her daddy. Enjoy!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Our family decorated our Chirstmas Tree for our Family Night. Our tree doesn't have much to prove but its our tree and we love it. It was cute when Dad took a moment to put up the star, he's a cute guy. It was a fun night especially because I watched Charle Brown Christmas with my niece Morgan while everyone did the work. HaHaHa! PS THE DATES ON THE PICTURES ARE OBVIOUSLY WRONG: IT WAS 11/26/07

New Church Calling

Thanksgiving was so much fun; there was a total of 29 people, kids and babies at my parent’s home last night. We did so much rearranging of furniture to prepare for the event too. When we were kids we use to go to Disneyland for Thanksgiving. Back then people left the park by 12 for their dinner and our family had the park to ourselves, or at least that’s how it felt. Well for some reason we stopped the Disneyland Thanksgiving and started to stay home and created a new tradition by inviting all of the Cooper side of my family over. As the years gone by we have now out grown my house for guest. My Aunt jokingly said that we will always find room for the future years, but little does she know that we might go back to our “Disneyland Thanksgiving” next year. In a way I would be way sad to not have our big family over with all the new additions to our family, but on the other hand I wouldn’t miss the house cleaning labor prior to the event.
